Job Description

We are working with a Top FTSE 100 Bank in recruiting a Senior Assistant Company Secretary into their secretariat. This is seen as a key hire in the department, looking after one of the Group's main boards and ensuring the smooth running of the governance processes surrounding it.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with good financial services experience to work within a challenging, rewarding environment and it offers the chance to work with an excellent team of company secretaries, all accomplished within their own fields.

Key responsibilities:
* Providing Company Secretarial support to the Board and Board Committees, including meeting planning, forward calendar and agenda setting, Board paper preparation and co-ordination, meeting attendance and minuting.
* On-going ad hoc support to the Chairman and NEDs, including agenda setting meetings, providing advice and support on corporate governance matters.
* In conjunction with the Board Support Assistant, coordinate director support including delivery of director inductions and ongoing training.
* Overseeing the delivery of statutory compliance services, maintenance of governance standards and the provision of company secretarial advice and transactional support to the Group's entities.
* Line managing designated team members, managing individual development, monitoring performance against objectives, mentoring/coaching and conducting performance reviews.

There is superb scope and variety within this role, offering a breadth and depth of high-quality work and the opportunity to manage a small team. This role would suit individuals with good board and committee exposure, looking to gain experience in a well-regarded and recognised department.

Successful candidate will be fully qualified and ideally would have some previous experience gained in a regulated environment.
