Our Client is a leading UK law firm and one of the dominant legal players in London and the South East. The firm has several offices based in the UK and overseas.
With around 110 partners and 600 employees the firm has established a strong reputation in a variety of sectors, including private wealth, technology, life sciences, education, social housing, retail, healthcare, media and advertising, renewables and waste, sports and entertainment, transport and family businesses. One of the main areas of legal services provided is in Family Law.
The highly ranked Family Team is both nationally and internationally recognised and provides a comprehensive service which incorporates all aspects of family financial work and international family law issues. The team is known for acting in complex, high value matters and work closely with the firm's highly regarded private client team on complex onshore and offshore tax and trust issues, as well as lifetime and succession planning. The family team also has significant experience in disputes between unmarried couples, ground breaking issues surrounding surrogacy, "alternative families" and complex parenting arrangements. The team also acts in some of the leading cases in England and Wales, representing clients including professionals, entrepreneurs, wealthy individuals, landowners and those in the public eye, in addition to acting in many of England's leading reported cases.
The Family Team is going from strength to strength and Client is now looking to add further weight to the London family team at partner level. As the successful candidate you should be a Senior Associate or Partner with a firm with similar calibre. You should be used to dealing with an extensive caseload autonomously and be experienced in a variety of complex matters, including high net worth Ancillary Relief cases and Children Act issues.
The successful Candidate will be joining the Team as a Partner and as such should also be a bright, energetic team player; possess strong communication and interpersonal skills; be a skillful supervisor, manager and mentor to junior members of the team; build relationships internally and externally with clients and employees acting as an excellent ambassador for the firm whilst making a strong personal impression on others; and possess strong business and commercial acumen, demonstrating sound governance and risk management, whilst unafraid to look for opportunities to create new lines of business to grow the size of the team/the firm.
The partners would describe the team as an "ego free zone". Individuals are given the space to develop their own specialisms and interests without hindrance and indeed with the full support of the partnership. There is no one "big character" to overshadow the team and there is a real collegiate ethos.
