Overview of the Role

The client is an international asset management group which is engaged in a strategic project to rationalise its legal entities structure. This strategic project has identified a portfolio of corporate entities which it would like to close. The requirement is for a hands-on project manager to work with the business to progress each entity through the steps to liquidation and closure.


Duties and Responsibilities

You will:

*Draft individual due diligence documentation for each candidate entity, setting out the supporting business rationale and formulating a detailed step plan for closure;
*Liaise with internal stakeholders; chiefly Finance, Co-Sec, Tax, Legal, Compliance, HR to obtain necessary approvals;
*Follow up with internal stakeholders on the timely completion of all necessary pre-liquidation actions;
*Liaise with liquidators, on their appointment, resolving their queries and documentary requirements, ensuring that they receive necessary support from the business;
*Track individual steps plan actions lists, status and timings; documented and updated in a simple database;
*Put in place progress reporting and supporting MI to update the working groups and the Steering Group; and
*Provide of occasional support to other legal entity related project activity
*Carry out additional duties as assigned

Technical Skills and Qualifications

*Extensive experience in legal entity rationalisation projects preferred
*Accounting and/or company secretarial background desirable
*A degree of project management experience would be desirable, but not essential providing the candidate has the requisite organisational skills
*Financial services experience useful.

Ongoing competence in the role to be assessed by:
*Annual Performance Appraisal
*Completion of all assigned Compliance training
*Annual Attestation (Knowledge and Competence in-scope roles only)


For those in scope of Knowledge & Competence (MiFID II)

*Knowledge of financial markets, financial markets function and the impact of economic figures and national/regional/global events on markets
*Understanding of issues relating to market abuse and anti-money laundering
