Job Description

This is a superb opportunity to work for an individual to work within a successful and diverse housing association organisation. It is a permanent Governance Officer role based in the organisations London office.

You will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment in which you will have the ability to learn from a highly experienced manager. Our client is looking for a commercial, entrepreneurial and switch-on individual dedicated to developing their company secretarial career. This role is perfect for a Company Secretarial Assistant looking for a new challenging opportunity.

You will be required to provide high quality support and assistance to the Group Secretary and General Counsel and the Head of Governance by ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of professional governance and company secretarial services across the organisation.

Your main responsibilities would include:
*To provide professional support to ensure the smooth running of board and committee activities
*To ensure high standards of governance are maintained and that they remain aligned with policies and the concepts of best practice.
*To assist with implementation of corporate strategies and decisions by ensuring that boards' and committees' decisions and instructions are properly carried out and communicated.
*To assist in the continued development of the use of IT based boardroom and company secretarial solutions such as Diligent, BoardPad and Blueprint Oneworld to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Skills and experience required include:
*Experience of servicing boards and committees.
*Experience relevant to the governance, regulatory, company secretarial and compliance work of the team (e.g. company secretarial, governance, internal audit, legal/paralegal, financial qualification).
*Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement and have ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
