Job Description

This is a superb opportunity to work for an individual to work within a successful and diverse organisation that operates within London and the South East. It is a permanent Governance Officer role based in the organisations London office.

You will be required to provide high quality support and assistance to the Group Secretary and General Counsel and the Head of Governance by ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of professional governance and company secretarial services across the organisation.
You will also need to coach and develop other team members to: deliver company secretarial services; increase their professional knowledge; and build their capacity to contribute to the achievement of business objectives and the success of the organisation.

Your main responsibilities would include:
*To provide professional support to ensure the smooth running of board and committee activities
*To ensure high standards of governance are maintained and that they remain aligned with policies and the concepts of best practice.
*To assist with implementation of corporate strategies and decisions by ensuring that boards' and committees' decisions and instructions are properly carried out and communicated.
*To assist in the continued development of the use of IT based boardroom and company secretarial solutions such as Diligent, BoardPad and Blueprint Oneworld to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Skills and experience required include:
*Experience of servicing boards and committees.
*Experience relevant to the governance, regulatory, company secretarial and compliance work of the team (e.g. company secretarial, governance, internal audit, legal/paralegal, financial qualification).
*Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement and have ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Relationship management skills
*ICSA qualified
