Job Description

One of the world's largest payment operators are currently looking for a Data Protection Lawyer to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic time to join this industry business. They have recently been named as 'one of the largest profit generating companies'.

The role will offer a vast amount of exposure to commercial projects across the global group with a specific focus on data protection and privacy issues which are key to the company's operations. The team are to become the central hub for all data protection issues across the worldwide group. The successful candidate will have an active role in helping create and implement a new framework programme to be applied across the business.

Our client is looking compete with private practice salaries and are offering an excellent package of remuneration.

The key accountabilities for the role include:
* Responsible for providing high quality data privacy and commercial compliance advice
* Support to Europe's head of Data Privacy as well as colleagues at all levels within the business regarding data privacy legislation and initiatives.
* To work closely with the regulatory team to develop appropriate positions in relation to new regulatory and legislative initiatives; particularly the GDPR
* Manage identified areas of law and be a proactive subject matter expert in Data Privacy reviewing externally published materials to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate or be looking to develop:
*Extensive experience specific to Data protection law in either a Private Practice or In-House environment.
*Be able to operate in a dynamic and commercial position.
*Confident working autonomously.
*Assertive in providing a strategic oversight to previous projects they have worked on.
