Job Description

DMJ are currently working on a role with a London based insurance company, who are looking to fill a newly created Company Secretary position. This is an opportunity to be a decision maker within the insurance industry.

You will have the opportunity to combine their knowledge of the UK market with your Company secretary skills to excel at this role.

Like the role itself, the company has recently been created by a merger in September 2018. You will be a component part of the decision-making process within the company secretarial team. You will be able to engage with stakeholders such as director of the board and CEO on an everyday basis. This is a unique opportunity to be involved at the highest level within the company and have real autonomy.

You would be the first person to hold this position within this company, allowing you the chance to make your mark and steer the team in an innovative way. You will hold a senior position within a group of 5, reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, with an assistant Company Secretary and a consultant there to assist and support you.

You would be expected to work on a variety of stimulating and challenging work, across several lines of business - property, casualty, professional, financial lines and speciality, within the structure of a corporate financial company

The successful candidate would provide governance, ensuring that the company remains complaint by completing the full spectrum of company secretary duties. This would offer the candidate the chance to:

- build on their existing company secretary experience
- Hone their governance skills and to successfully put their ICSA qualifications into practice.

Previous experience working within financial services would also be preferable to excel at this role.
