Job Description

A specialist insurance and reinsurance broker is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Compliance.

As part of its overall growth and expansion strategy, the business is reviewing its compliance framework, policies and procedures. This presents a unique opportunity to help set foundations for a new compliance function that is business supportive, highly skilled, responsive, scalable and best in class.

Based in the central London office and reporting to Global Head of Compliance & Risk, you will be responsible for reviewing, updating and overseeing the compliance framework, policies and procedures, acting as a business advisor and enabler.

You will help execute the overall Compliance & Risk Strategy including but not limited to -

*Helping to design, update and take ownership of compliance procedures
*Providing education and training to the business
*Preparing compliance data and MI
*Assisting with the maintenance of various registers, such as Gifts & Entertainment, Complaints and others
*Assisting with SMCR and Brexit related tasks
*Assisting with the FCA authorisation process
*Responding to a range of FCA, Lloyd's of London and other regulatory questions and issues
*Keeping up to date with regulatory developments and communications
*Assisting with the preparation and collation of board papers and meeting packs

The role will suit a mid-level compliance professional with experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry. Legal experience is preferred as is experience of Lloyds of London.

You will be a proactive, forward looking, analytical and collaborate team player with the ability to make risk-based judgements with limited supervision.
