Governance and project focused position

A leading financial services institution with a team of 6 has created a new position within the function to focus on governance practices. Reporting into a Chartered Secretary with capacity to develop the position as appropriate, this role is suited to some with extensive governance & project work exposure seeking a development position. The team do not require previous experience working in financial services.

The position:
*Act as Company Secretary providing a full company secretarial service to various companies, boards, board committees and management committees.
*Provide support, advice and training internally and externally in relation to corporate governance and company law
*Contributing as a subject matter expert to business projects and taking responsibility for deliverable as required
*Identification, assessment and leading implementation of regulatory and legislative changes
*Ensuring best practice corporate governance principles are implemented in all day to day activities
*Support the Head of the UK Company Secretariat & Corporate Governance Team to deliver Corporate Governance projects
*Identifying ways to improve efficiency and delivery of the department through implementing key infrastructure to support the team and wider business
*Support, manage and oversee use of Board Intelligence by the team and wider business

*Either a Chartered Secretary (ACIS or FCIS) or an equivalent level of professional qualification and experience
*Experienced in all aspects of company secretarial work
*Knowledge of underlying legislation and its application to practical situations
*Practical experience of managing projects and delivering change to the business
*Able to manage relationships at all levels of the business to influence the achievement of good commercial and governance outcomes
*Flexible and adaptable personal style with strong influencing and negotiation skills
*Highly organised, pragmatic and able to effectively manage shifting priorities
