Assistant Company Secretary in outstanding Insurance Company

Salary: to £55,000

Reporting to: Company Secretary

Location: London, Canary Wharf

An FCA regulated Insurance Company are seeking an Assistant Company Secretary to join their team. They are offering progression within this role from running own committees and boards, managing junior members of the team and autonomy within remit. They are seeking someone with excellent potential and a drive for a growing career.

The Role:

*Keep up to date with a working knowledge of FCA regulations relevant to the boards and Committees assigned
*Supports Company Secretary in corporate governance matters, including organising, and preparing agenda for, meetings, attending and taking minutes to support an effective service to Boards and Committees
*Arranges the annual general meeting and contributes to the production and publication of the annual report and accounts in compliance with the Companies Act 2006 and relevant regulations, including drafting the Directors' Report and s172 wording for the Strategic Report.
*Drafts and arranges incorporation of amendments to the Memorandum and Articles of Association and Standing Orders, taking legal advice as necessary.
*Undertakes activities and provides advice to other departments to enable compliance with Data Protection Act, Consumer Credit Act, Companies Act and other relevant legislation and regulations.
*Supervises the work, development and motivation of the Company Secretarial Assistant.

Experience Required:

*Extensive, broad experience of company secretarial work.
*Good working knowledge of risk management.
*Good knowledge of pensions.
*Good working knowledge of data protection.
*Knowledge of FCA regulations and Consumer Credit Act would be an advantage.
*The ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels.
*The ability to prioritise and work with minimal supervision, someone who enjoys autonomy
*Management or supervisory experience would be an advantage.
