This is a unique opportunity for any Cilex qualified individual to join and impact an independently managed public bank as a Contract Specialist at their Yorkshire office. The organization was developed in order to increase the supply of credit to small and medium enterprises, as well as providing business advice services. The primary responsibility for this position would be reviewing commercial contracts and would be supporting and advising wider Commercial Operations teams and functions within the business.  

This role would report to the Head of Commercial and Procurement and is a perfect opportunity for someone who:  

  • Has sound commercial awareness and judgement and can assess the reputational operational risks inherent in the task at hand  

  • Good technical drafting and negotiating skills, with an aptitude to learn and develop wider knowledge in Procurement law, IP and data protection issues, and IT contracts 

  • An understanding of different contract structures including frameworks, single service agreements, and supplier terms.

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and documents in accordance with supplier management risk statements and processes 

  • Supporting wider departments, such as Commercial, Procurement, Legal, and internal stakeholders  

  • Designing and delivering training and guidance across the business  

  • Reporting on relevant changes to legislation and regulations to ensure compliance  

  • Being accountable for your own production and management of contracting information.
