Finding a new job in the legal market (particularly for the first time) can be a daunting experience. Alex placed me in my current role and, with his help, the process was much simpler. He is realistic, knows the market very well and clearly has a wealth of contacts. He is also very responsive and helpful throughout. I would highly recommend Alex to any one looking to make a move.

For the past ten years, DMJ have hosted an annual Newly Qualified Headstart event for those trainees approaching qualification. Our aim has been to provide advice, guidance and support to those due to qualify shortly as they embark on their long-term careers. We would love you to join us at our next event, which is being held online on 21st April at 1pm.

Despite the pandemic, the legal market remains buoyant with many practice areas thriving, which undoubtedly makes for a positive qualification process for those qualifying in September.

To help you navigate the market, both internally and externally, our Managing Director, Marc Tobias will be joined by Dan Kayne, General Counsel of Network Rail to provide advice on managing your long-term career and the qualification process. In addition, in an ever competitive market, Dan will also discuss the ‘O Shaped Lawyers’ program, the skills lawyers need to develop for a successful and long-term commercial career in practice and in-house.

Company Secretary Insight Days

Co Sec Insight days, Inspiring future talent.

DMJ launched the Insight Day Initiative in 2016 to help raise the profile of the company secretarial profession amongst students and graduates. Our responsibility is to address the challenges faced to prevent a longer term skills shortage at a time when interest in the profession is rising.

Some of the UK’s leading companies are hosting events at their offices to demonstrate what becoming a Company secretary entails. Between them, they've already inspired over 400 students and graduates to secure their first role or embark on the ICSA qualification.
