The legal market has been through a huge change this year and salaries have obviously been affected. Most firms have either frozen salary bands or not moved lawyers up to the next salary level, effectively cutting salaries. To counteract this “cut” firms are using bonuses where possible to reward star performers.
Above 4 PQE we are finding that firms are more flexible with remuneration and lawyers are rewarded on what additional skills and resources they have to offer as well as billable hours.
